58 Washington Street, TOORAK
BOUGHT* - $3,350,000
Michael Ebeling and Mark Wridgway got things under way in front of a good crowd in the front garden of around 60 with a vendor bid of $3,000,000. After an eternity and a trip inside to discuss the weather, somebody finally bid $2,750,000. My kind of guy - a backward bid – however it was too cheeky and was skilfully knocked back by Mark. A few minutes later he elicited the bid he wanted at $3,050,000 and belatedly another bidder joined in. The action, which was pedestrian, ground to a halt at $3,250,000 despite regular trips inside by the auctioneer – maybe he was checking the weather map – anyway pass in and to nobody’s surprise sold afterwards for $3,350,000. Nobody’s surprise because Michael Ebeling usually gets them sold.
