6 Avoca Street, SOUTH YARRA
PASSED IN - $4,000,000
Certainly the biggest auction I have reported on, with close to 180 people watching on in anticipation. Auctioneer Gerald Delany's projected voice could be heard from either end of Toorak Road as he endeavoured to extract a bid from the enormous crowd. With no bids forthcoming, Delany put in a vendor bid of $4,000,000 which had little effect on the vibrant mob of onlookers. After consulting with the vendors, Delany returned to give the crowd one more opportunity to make a bid for the very unique and beautiful South Yarra home, however, there were no parties interested in bidding at the auction. Having received no bids, the property was passed in.

"Perhaps not for everyone as terrace homes appeal to a smaller market, but if you like them, this is a good one with great character and a fantastic location, close to the action. Attached on one side only, this helps with natural light although this is still limited as the windows face south. You need to be comfortable with stairs as they are everywhere, even from the street to the front door. The laundry is a great size but it's a long way from the bedrooms when carting washing. Overall, this home caters for a large family with multiple living and bedroom options."
BOUGHT* - Indicates property has been bought. We are a buyer rating company and a buyer advocate company only, and we use the word bought instead of sold to give the website a buyer flavour. We do not buy all the properties listed on this website, therefore we often rely on an advertised price or the selling agent to indicate the bought price and occasionally the result may be inaccurate.
