In a quiet little cal-de-sac a rather small crowd of 50 people gathered to watch the auction at 9 Alfred Street, Kew. As it turned out the crowd was mostly neighbours with only two bidders placing one bid each. Richard Earle of Jellis Craig opened the bidding with a vendor bid of $3,000,000 and put on an excellent show trying to get a further bid of 25k - finally receiving one on the third call. One further bid was placed but the property was passed in at $3,050,000.
